From the committee
The Archive needs what is still in attics
Class photographs, magazines, programmes, team lists — if it is from Oatlands and still in a box at home, the Union would like to scan it.
The gallery on this site is growing, but it is still thin for most decades. Almost everything we have so far comes from recent reunions. The 1950s through the 1990s are barely represented at all.
That is fixable, and it is mostly about what people still have at home.
What we are looking for
Class photographs from any year, named or unnamed. Team photographs — rugby, GAA, soccer, basketball, athletics. School magazines, yearbooks and annuals. Programmes from concerts, plays, prize days and matches. Old jerseys, ties and blazer badges. Roll books, class lists, letters home. Photographs of the buildings and grounds from any era.
Nothing is too ordinary. A slightly blurry sports-day print from 1983 is exactly the kind of thing that disappears forever if nobody scans it.
How it works
Drop it into the school office in an envelope with your name and phone number, or email the committee and someone will collect it. We scan everything at high resolution. Nothing is cut, trimmed, glued or written on. You get the originals back.
If a photograph of you is already in the gallery and you would rather it was not, say so — it comes down the same day, no reason needed. The same applies to a photograph of a family member who has died.
Browse what is already up, and get in touch if you have something to add.
