The Archive

Photographs, magazines, programmes and team lists

Seventy-five years of school life, most of it still in attics. The Union scans what past pupils bring in, puts it in the gallery, and gives the originals back.

What we have, by decade

6 photographs catalogued so far, counted by the decade they come from.

Where the gaps are. Everything catalogued so far was taken at recent reunions — including photographs of older year groups, such as the class of 1975, standing on the front steps in 2025. Original prints from the 1950s through the 1990s are almost entirely missing. If you left in those decades and still have a box of photographs, you are exactly who we need.

On the Front Steps — the Classes of 1975 and 2015

Two year groups, fifty years apart, photographed on the same front steps on the same afternoon.

How donating works

  1. 1 Drop it into the school office in an envelope with your name and phone number, or email us and one of us will collect it.
  2. 2 We scan everything at high resolution. Nothing is cut, trimmed, glued or written on.
  3. 3 You get the originals back once they have been scanned, in person if you'd prefer.
  4. 4 We credit you as the donor if you'd like, or keep it anonymous if you wouldn't.

Photographs of people

Old photographs of children are still photographs of people, and a good many of those people are alive.

  • We only name someone if the donor named them, or the name was already published
  • Ask us to remove a photograph of yourself and it comes down the same day
  • The same applies to a photograph of a family member who has died
  • No facial recognition, and no cross-referencing against the mailing list

Help wanted

The faces in the gallery we can’t put a name to

Class photographs and reunion albums often arrive with only some of the names attached. If you recognise anyone, tell us which photograph and who it is — every correction gets recorded against the image, and we credit whoever spotted it.

The same mailbox handles removals. If you would rather a photograph of yourself was not on the site, say so and it comes down the same day.
